National Hispanic Heritage Month

After attending a Sip N' Salsa event last year in Virginia, I realized there really were that many events during the month of September and October for National Hispanic Heritage Month. In fact I had no idea that this was National Hispanic Heritage Month. So this year I implemented a series of classes at ArtJamz to add to the cultural events in Washington D.C..

National Hispanic Heritage Month is a month dedicated to hispanic achievement, culture, and people. The month of September was chosen as the starting point of the celebration because it is the the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month ArtJamz is putting on a series of classes to celebrate hispanic culture. Our artist of the month in September is surrealist Frida Kahlo. We will have classes dedicated to Kahlo’s incredible portraiture and we will also have fun paint & sip classes with a hispanic themes. Classes will run throughout the month of September in both our Dupont Studio and Crystal City Studio.
