Revamp an Old Thing

I created this painting about a year and a half ago. I was never really happy with it, but decided I was done anyway. Today I decided it was time to reuse the canvas and paint over the last creation. In order to reuse the canvas I was going to paint over the previous painting with white. While doing that I started to love the way it looked! The broad careless brushstrokes hiding pieces of the portrait added a kind of mystery and curiosity the painting was lacking before. 

Moral of the story: Revamp an old project that you were never satisfied with! You may end up loving it!

I may or may not add more to the painting, it might end up being a forever-evolving piece.
